Louie Palu is a documentary photographer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, festivals and exhibitions internationally, which includes the photojournalism festival Visa Pour L’Image in Perpignan, France, New York Photo Festival and Baltimore Museum of Art.

Palu is the recipient of numerous accolades including a National Magazine Award, Hearst Photography Biennial, Photojournalist of the Year, Hasselblad Master Award, Alexia Foundation Documentary Photography Grant and is currently working on a 2011 Bernard Schwartz Fellowship for a study of the U.S./Mexico border.

Palu’s work has been commissioned for, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Time magazine, Newsweek, The Atlantic, Paris Match, BBC, The Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, Sunday Times Magazine and many others.

Louie Palu’s photographs are held in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Canada, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Library and Archives of Canada, Portland Art Museum, Southeast Museum of Photography and George Eastman House International Museum of Film and Photography.
