One Response to “A Day To Remember / Poll #5 – “Where were you…?””

  1. As a retired Federal Police Officer assigned to the Presido of Monterey/Defense Language Institute on that date, I was reading a report and heard the report on one of the Bay Area Radio Station. I then thought about the B-24 that had crashed into the side of the Empire State Building in late 1948, and thought that was it. But as I listened further, and heard the report of a second plane crashing into the other tower, it wasn’t long before a long convoy of Lo-Boy transporters went up the road, then a half hour later they all went back down the roadway full to the gills of orange barricades. Then we went to “War”, with everything closed to all civilians, and we went on a 100% full alert.

So we and the MP’s around the Country were at war….
